Back in 2010, the Iranian unclear program was attacked by an unidentifiable malware. That was the year when the problem is said to have began when a type of virus known as zero-virus that is very difficult to detect attacked the Iranian uranium enrichment facilities. Unclear programs are likely to be targeted by this kind of virus unlike the normal programs because of how important they are. This calls for effectively strong anti-virus software and firewalls by organizations as a preventive measure.
In an attempt to provide a solution, Billon Beresford tried to unravel the root of the issue by purchasing S7 from Siemens. However, Stuxnet attacked Siemens as well and after about two months Beresford found out that vulnerabilities had impacted several lines of Siemen’s S7. He had an option of selling the vulnerabilities of which he did not because attempting to sell his wares might be problematic that it looked. This is because; there is no transparency about the zero-days market. I am however, for the opinion that Beresford should sell his discovery and my main reason is that there are guys who might be looking for similar problems and they might be faster at discovering the vulnerabilities. In addition, Siemens can release upgraded products to avoid the vulnerabilities.
