For this paper you are to explain Erving Goffman’s concept of Dramaturgy. First, define dramaturgy. (10%) How did Goffman come up with the concept? (5%)  Next, provide a detailed explanation of the components/vocabulary of dramaturgy. (25%) You should use a minimum of three outside academic sociological sources to explain dramaturgy (preferably peer reviewed journals). (10% each) You may use the textbook, however, it does not count as a source.

Then, provide one unique example using each of the components of dramaturgy (use only one scenario that incorporates each of the parts of dramaturgy). (30%) This example can be from your own life, or something imagined. Using a movie or television example is also acceptable (be sure to cite this type of example).

Be sure to cite in APA format. The paper should be typed and double spaced with no smaller than 12 font.  A title page including your name, date, assignment title, and course title is required.  Papers with no title page will receive a 10% deduction. Deductions may also be taken for spelling, grammar, citation errors, and formatting issues.  I am more concerned with content than with number of pages.  However, for those of you that need number of pages, these tend to be 6-8 pages in length.   Let me know if you have any questions.
