Your first graded assignment is a Personal Essay on the topic "A Cave I Have Visited and Escaped."  This Personal Essay asks you to reflect on and write about a period in your life when you were trapped, like the figures in Plato's Allegory of the Cave.  Using your reading of the text, elaborate on this moment and substantiate it with at least one quote from the Plato text.  You may add dialogue, descriptive language, and creative writing to enrich your Personal Essay.
