Paper 1 (Due 9/19/19 at 10:00 PM)

  

Most of the cases that we have discussed so far deal with the issue of judicial power. Referencing only the cases that we have studied so far in the Judicial Power section of the syllabus, discuss the development of judicial power from the earliest cases to the most recent cases that we have studied. When and how does judicial power expand? When and how does judicial power contract (or is limited in some way)? Conclude with an overview of what the nature of judicial power is at this moment and assess whether that is appropriate or not appropriate. Does the US Supreme Court have too much power or not enough? Or some sort of middling position?

[Hint: you must quote and cite the cases if you are to be successful on this paper. Failure to do that is lazy and shows me that you haven’t done the reading.]
