How has globalization affected pop culture media, particularly language and music? Does it influence cultural values? Are the results of globalizing forces a homogenized culture (the same) or a hybrid (diversification)? Is Americanization or Westernization a good thing or not? Are there potential or current consequences? Develop an argument around one or more of these ideas, using Lim’s Popular Culture and your assigned country article. Your paper should 1) demonstrate a depth of understanding regarding the assigned readings and 2) present an organized, original argument relevant to this topic.
