   a.History The US has been a pioneer in space exploration and it’s important to understand its history in order to understand how important its achievements are today.  

   b.The following are some of the major highlights of US Space Exploration. 

        i.The U.S. first launched astronauts to space nearly 60 years ago, but NASA lost that capability when the space shuttle program ended in 2011.
