TERM PAPER Please write an essay, MINIMUM 1,000 (that′s equivalent to 4 pages in 12  pt. font, double-spaced) on the following subject:  You will select a recent crime article and apply a maximum of two  criminology theories to the crime.  The crime you choose to discuss  should be no more than 2 years old.  The article you choose should have  sufficient information for you to make proper assumptions related to the  theory(ies) you choose.   You are only required to apply one theory, but if you feel another  applies, you can go ahead and apply that second one as well.  Whether or  not I agree with the theory you have chosen does not matter.  What  matters is how you DEFEND your position.  If you provide a compelling  argument for why and how that theory is applicable, then you have  completed your assignment.  Basically, I am looking to gauge whether or  not you “get it.”  If you can explain the theory to me and apply it,  then you will have demonstrated to me that you understand the theory.   Your paper should include the following:  - Provide a definition of the theory.  This means you must explain what  the theory is, including the person who came up with the theory, what  group the theory was aimed at, and the basic assumptions and tenets of  the theory.   - Explain how this theory applies to the crime.  You should provide  examples.  Your paper should be a well-written college-level essay.  That means you  should cite where appropriate and use proper grammar. (Also, see  guidelines below)  DO NOT A WRITE A PAPER WHERE ALL YOU DO IS SUMMARIZE THE ARTICLE.  This  is a major mistake and will affect your grade.   Please remember to CITE YOUR SOURCES OF INFORMATION. Not just in the  reference section of your paper, but WITHIN the paper as well. If you  state a fact, you must cite where you got that fact from!  MINIMUM 3  SOURCES.  Also remember to PROOFREAD your work! Misspellings and grammatical  errors can disrupt the flow of your writing so please be check your work  before submitting it.  One last note: this paper is relatively SHORT. Mininum 1,000 words (yes,  it can be longer) is NOT a lot. If you work on your paper thoughtfully  and do what is requested, you will have no trouble fulfilling that  minimum word requirement. However, if your paper does not fulfill the  minimum word requirement, I will DEDUCT points. For every 200 words your  grade will go down.  Please contact me with any questions.
