Critically discuss the validity of the following statement using peered reviewed academic journals: “Entrepreneurial Opportunities are Created not Discovered” ___________________________ The assignment will be completed individually in an essay format and will be approximately 1500-2000 words in length. This assignment is worth 50% of grade for the module. A key aspect of this essay will be to ability to critically assess the extant literature and apply it appropriately in order to answer the question. Therefore, in this essay you will be required to discuss and demonstrate the following; - Theoretical foundations of opportunity recognition - Effective synthesis and analysis of peer reviewed academic journals - Critical evaluation of the origins of opportunities - Extent of appropriate reading covered - Evidence of outside/ additional reading and investigation - Appropriate use of examples to bring theory to life The Essay should be approximately 1500-2000 words in length (Font 12, Times New Roman) and follow the Harvard Referencing system. Essay Guidelines Answering the Question Remain within the parameters of the question – What is the SPECIFIC question? – Do not get side-tracked – Stay focused Organizing your Answer Organise your answer around key issues – What are the critical issues that you need to convey when answering the question. – Discuss, analyse and evaluate them in detail • Be careful not to fall into the trap of too much ‘story telling’.
