This is a 4-6  page paper, double spaced and typed.  Using the premise that a director can be the prime visionary of a film,  write an essay that compares two films by the same director to each  other. The paper should focus on the similarities in the two films.  IMDB.com is a useful website for verifying that both of your films have,  in fact, been directed by the same person.  Alfonso Cauron is not an option this semester, as he was covered by me.  Additionally, you may not analyze a film that we have screened in full  length (for example, you might decide to write a paper on Greta Gerwig,  but Ladybird cannot be one of your two films.  Multi part stories cannot be compared to each other. For example, if you  examine George Lucas, you could compare The Phantom Menace to American  Graffiti, but you cannot compare The Phantom Menace to Revenge of the  Sith.  Please upload a pdf to canvas or print the paper out and hand in a  hardcopy  Finally, avoid films with multiple directors, such as Sin City.  It is a good idea to select a director with a clear visual style.  However, any director is acceptable outside of the above parameters.  You must address the following topics. Again, your goal is to analyze  the similarities of your two films:              A bio of the director              Themes              Character types and character goals              Aesthetic elements, such as camerawork, editing, music,  dialogue  Consider having about a page on each of those topics.  In order to achieve 4 pages, you may wish to add discussion points on:              Genre              Performance style
