Today’s evolving innovative landscape requires the operations manager to play an ever more strategic role in both internal and external business operations. As you saw in Wilson’s article, the role of the operations manager has adapted to the changes, but many aspects of the original developmental role still exist.

Use the ideas in both articles to identify at least two key themes in the management of strategic relationships. What is the role of the operations manager in facilitating the strategic relationships? Summarize what you consider to be the most important requirements for ongoing success in that role given the challenges that technology creates.
