Busn 620 W3: External and Internal Environments (No More than 250-300 words) AMAZON

SWOT Analysis of Amazon

This SWOT analysis was done with the help of ChatGPT and Gemini for the Amazon brand. Both tools indicated that Amazon's logistics system, brand, and technology capabilities, as well as its diversified business model, were strengths, while highlighting regulatory issues, relying on sellers and operational complexity were several weaknesses (Amazon.com, 2024). Additionally, the analyses yielded insights into artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and e-commerce expansion worldwide as opportunities, and competition, cybersecurity threats, and regulations as threats. In the same vein, Lin's (2022) study of the Amazon Marketplace, Prime and FBA ecosystem, finds these same trends.

While the SWOT analysis you performed last week is geared toward analyzing the potential of an organization, Porter's Five Forces are all external. For the same organization you selected in Week 1, produce a Porter's Five Forces analysis by conducting research using any two of the following three AI tools (free version is sufficient) for this organization: ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot. Synthesize the results produced by the two chosen tools to arrive at a finalized version of the Five Forces for this organization. Be sure to explain how the four elements that pertain to the bargaining power of suppliers and customers, as well as the threat of new entrants and substitute products, determine the fifth element of competitive rivalry within the industry. Your primary posting should include an overview (in your own words) of the results produced by each of the two chosen tools, as well as the finalized Five Forces for this organization. For your additional postings, consider potential AI hallucinations in your classmates’ posts. In addition, as part of your responses to your classmates, pose questions to them about their Five Forces analysis from the perspective of a VP of Operations role.

MGKT601 WK 3 Social Media Strategy and Channel Selection

(No More than 250-300 words)

Marketing strategies have evolved significantly in recent years, with a strong shift toward digital platforms, consumer engagement, and meaningful brand connections. As part of this shift, social media has become a critical component of how businesses communicate and connect with their audiences. VBA Veterans Benefit Adminstration

For this discussion:

· Identify the social media channels you plan to focus on in your final digital marketing plan.

· Explain why these channels are a good fit for your target market. What makes them effective platforms for reaching and engaging this audience?

· How can you use AI to assist you with creating social media content and strategy?

MGKT601 WK3 RESPOND TO ADAMES (NO MORE THAN 150 WORDS)

Good evening, everyone,             Apologies for the early discussion post. I will be in the field for 5 days and would be otherwise unable to participate in this week’s discussion.

For my digital marketing plan, I chose D&E Customs and Engraving LLC, a small, licensed firearms manufacturer based out of Southern Arizona. Because social media evolves so rapidly, my strategy intentionally avoids trying to be an industry first-mover on emerging or unproven platforms. Instead, I’m zeroing in on proven, established networks where our target audience is already active. This decision is grounded in recent data from the Pew Research Center, which shows that YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram remain dominant forces among U.S. adults, with 84% using YouTube, 71% on Facebook, and 50% on Instagram (Gottfried & Park, 2025). To complement these, I’ll also be incorporating X into the mix.

Selecting these specific platforms comes down to aligning channel strengths with target demographic. D&E’s core market consists of individuals aged 30–50, primarily hunters, active-duty military personnel, veterans, law enforcement officers, and dedicated firearms hobbyists. This group typically possesses the disposable income required for custom firearm work, appreciates fine craftsmanship, and moves in social circles with similar interests. Because each chosen platform plays a distinct role, the plan is to engage this audience effectively across different stages of the customer journey:

· YouTube : YouTube will be the primary driver for top-of-funnel brand awareness. Its algorithm is great at serving niche, high-interest content to people who actually want to see it. We've already seen proof of this firsthand: two long-form videos showing the step-by-step machining process of custom muzzle brakes generated over 260 hours of watch time and active comment engagement, despite the business having no formal YouTube channel at the time. By delivering polished, educational content that highlights the artistry of custom gunsmithing, we can establish authority and compete visually with larger manufacturers.

· Facebook and Instagram Given the firearms industry’s history with account throttling and sudden suspensions on Meta platforms, relying on Facebook or Instagram for cold brand awareness is risky. Instead, these channels will cultivate an audience that already knows the brand or has previously been a customer. Instagram serves as a high-end visual portfolio where crisp photography and short-form video showcase the detailed aesthetics of custom builds. Instagram’s content is easily shareable. Meanwhile, Facebook offers a space for community building, client testimonials, and engaging customers shopping for family members.

· X for Industry Discourse: The firearms sector is uniquely intertwined with policy, legislation, and public debate. X operates as a real-time public forum, giving the brand a platform to stay visible during key industry developments and connect with an engaged community that values pro-Constitution principles. This medium is highly niche, with only 21% of US adults saying they ever use the platform (Gottfried & Park, 2025). This avenue will need to be monitored for strategic adjustments or alternatives.

Finally, managing four distinct channels might seem heavy for a small business, but because YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X serve completely different purposes, operational resources won't be stretched in the way they would be if we were managing duplicate content types, such as 3 short-form platforms, for example. This is where leveraging AI becomes a huge force multiplier for our workflow and strategy.

AI tools can streamline content repurposing by taking the transcript from a comprehensive YouTube build video and instantly generate polished Instagram captions or structured discussion posts for X. Second, AI can assist with trend monitoring, scanning real-time discussions and news on X to spot emerging topics that can then be turned into full-length video ideas for YouTube. Finally, as we look to set up a centralized, omnichannel customer support hub across all social platforms for efficiency purposes, generative AI can help draft prompt, professional responses to direct messages, ensuring no sales lead or customer inquiry goes unnoticed.

MGKT601 WK3 RESPOND TO LAWANNA (NO MORE THAN 150 WORDS)

Hello All,

For my final digital marketing plan, I will establish a presence on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube. However, my primary marketing efforts will focus on Instagram during the company's launch phase. As a new hair care brand designed specifically for Black women, concentrating time, content creation, and advertising dollars on one platform will allow the company to build a loyal customer base before expanding more aggressively across additional social media channels.

Instagram is the best platform to reach my target market because it combines visual storytelling, educational content, and community engagement. Black women frequently use Instagram to discover new beauty brands, learn healthy hair care techniques, watch product demonstrations, and find styling inspiration. Features such as Reels, Stories, Live videos, and user generated content provide multiple opportunities to educate consumers while building trust and brand awareness. As the brand gains customers and generates revenue, those profits can be reinvested into expanding content and paid advertising on TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, and YouTube (Social Media Marketing Strategies: Complete 2025 Guide, 2025).

The supporting platforms each serve a unique purpose within the overall marketing strategy. TikTok will help increase brand awareness through short, authentic videos that showcase hair transformations, tutorials, and trending content. Pinterest will drive long term website traffic because consumers often search for hairstyles, natural hair care routines, and beauty inspiration before making purchasing decisions. Facebook will help build an online community through groups, customer discussions, and targeted advertising while reaching a broader age demographic. YouTube will provide opportunities to publish longer educational videos, product demonstrations, wash day routines, and expert hair care advice that further establish the company's credibility.

This phased approach allows the business to maximize its limited marketing budget while creating meaningful relationships with customers. Rather than spreading resources too thin across multiple platforms, the company can build a strong presence on Instagram first, develop brand loyalty, and then strategically expand its digital footprint as revenue and customer engagement increase (How to Choose the Right Social Media Networks for Your Brand, 2025).

Artificial intelligence can also strengthen the company's social media strategy. AI tools can assist with brainstorming content ideas, writing captions, creating posting schedules, identifying trending hashtags, analyzing engagement metrics, and recommending the best times to publish content. AI can also evaluate audience behavior and campaign performance, allowing marketers to make data driven decisions that improve engagement and return on investment. While AI can improve efficiency and provide valuable insights, authentic storytelling and genuine customer interactions remain essential for building lasting relationships with consumers.
