Office Management

Course Description

A. Systems, procedures, and practices related to organizing and planning office work, supervising employee performance, and exercising leadership skills.

B. BMGT 1325 is a required course in the Business Management degree and certificate programs.

C. This course is occupationally related and serves as preparation for a career in general business management.

D. Prerequisites: None

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this Office Management course, you will be able to

This is a self-paced course; however, you must complete the two mandatory assignments and then follow the milestone (checkpoints) course outline (schedule). The length of time to reach each milestone will depend on the length of the course.

Assignments completed by the milestone are eligible for full credit. Assignments completed within one week (seven calendar days) after the milestone will receive a 10% penalty. Assignments will NOT be accepted after the penalty week. 

You must complete the two assignments: course procedures test and student introductions which are due by TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18th at 11:59pm in order to remain in the course. 

IMPORTANT KEY POINT: The required assignments MUST be completed, that is your syllabus quiz and student introduction. If you do not complete these assignments by TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18th by 11:59pm, I am required to report you as unattended and you will be removed from the course the next day WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19th first thing in the morning. After that I CANNOT add you back into the course. I CANNOT drop you due to unforeseen circumstances at any time during the course, you as the student have to withdrawal from the class. IMPORTANT: if you complete the two assignments and decide not to do the remainder of the assignments you will receive a letter grade at the end of the course whether you did the remainder of the work or not.

The class begins on MONDAY, FEBUARY 10  and ends on FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2024. Please use BUSI-1325-TD004 with all correspondence regarding this course.

Initial Post:

· To start your initial post, you will create a new thread.

· Post initial post in reply, do not add a file.

· Make certain that you have answered ALL parts of the question completely.

· Your post MUST be a minimum of 300 words in length.

· Your post MUST reference the textbook, meaning you have to support your opinion with what you read in that chapter to solidify your point of view and use an in-text reference to the chapter.

· Do NOT copy and paste direct quotes as your reference.

· When citing (which is required), you MUST use MLA format for in-text citations and include a Works Cited at the end.

· Please use standard English with proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and complete sentences in a paragraph format in your post

· REFRAIN from attaching your post via a Word document.

Reply Guidelines:

· You MUST reply to at least three of your classmates’ posts and answer questions that your fellow classmates may post.

· Type the name of the other student upon whose post you are commenting. For example, “Helen, you’re correct about the entrepreneurs giving back to the community. The entrepreneurs contributing 3% of the net profit helped the community’s efforts to establish an afternoon program for latchkey children…....”
