King's Theory of Goal Attainment is relevant in today's nursing profession. The theory is designed to enhance nurse-client communication, shared decision-making, and participation in health care goals in order to achieve 'good overall health.' How would you use King's theory with patient's when working toward mutually defined health care goals? The following are questions to consider as you are writing your summary. What does 'good health' mean to you? Do you believe it means the same to your patients? How will you include the patient's meaning into setting and achieving goals in your future practice as an APRN?
