1. What differences of classification of COPD severity exist, as based upon the GOLD guidelines?  What PFT results correlate with what severity levels of COPD? 

2. Asthma and heart failure are certainly appropriate differential diagnosis to consider in this patient. Providers often refer to obtaining a BNP as a guide in diagnosing heart failure. In patients with heart failure what level of BNP would you expect to see? Are there other conditions that might affect the BNP as well?
