Unethical behaviors at every educational level are serious, even more at master’s level and in professional practice as nurses. During the path to completion of the MSN program in Nurse Practitioner, students are already professionals with an expected level of maturity to complete the different tasks that the program includes. However, some circumstances like heavy work loads, family responsibilities, and lack of time to complete the program’s activities and its evaluations, may impulses the nurses to adopt unethical conducts that put in risk patient’s health once they start their nursing practice.

Plagiarism means copying someone’s work or material without the adequate citation of the original author. Although this may occur unintentionally, once it is detected, the student would loss credibility, can face academic penalties, and generate mistrust. (Roe, 2022). Due to the higher frequency of plagiarism, cheating, and use of artificial intelligence, many institutions are currently adopting lockdown browsers to limit student’s access to other programs while being during educational formation.

In relation of unethical behaviors in Nursing practice, it can be exemplified by the patient neglect in nursing practice. Inadequate patient care may cause adverse patient outcomes or harm. For example, not providing medications or treatments as prescribed, incorrectly reporting laboratory results or vital signs may put in risk patient’s condition.

The lack of ethical practices not only affect patients’ outcomes, but it also carries legal consequences, such as complaints for malpractice, lawsuits, professional disciplinary actions against the nurse, and even loss pf nurse’s license and jail. It is necessary to promote ethical environment and culture from the beginning of nursing formation to the nursing professional practice, ensuring support and tools to improve and update ethics concepts, policies, and guidelines (Stokes, 2023). Institutions and nurse administrators in different levels of education and professional practice must establish clear codes of practice that facilitate the understanding of ethical practice (Stokes, 2023).
