As a nurse educator, I would design a class that all students will feel comfortable to discuss on their personal experiences, thought and background in both positive and negative ways. It is important to be able to know how others think and how their perspective and be open minded to accept others thought and react to it. Also, educator should provide different learning styles and method to promote positive and effective learning experience for students, such as records, pictures, graphs, power point, discussion…etc. It is crucial for student to be able to pick their most comfortable and effective way of learning in order to receive the best understanding and interest to continue learning the materials.

As a nurse educator it is important to tailor your education style to multiple different styles of learning since many of your students will all have a different learning style. Some students learn better by audio and visual and other students are better when it comes to hands on learning. In order to be a successful educator it is important that all aspects of this learning are included in a teaching plan. By providing a lecture and PowerPoint some students might retain a great amount of information and could always go back to their notes or memory to help remind them of information. Other students have a hard time paying attention to this style of learning and would rather do something hands on. For example, if a nurse educator is teaching how to start an IV to students some students might want to see the step by step order of how to do so. On the other hand, some students might want to practice this task hands on so they can get into the muscle memory of doing this. I believe that a student should stick to the learning style that works best for them because this is what will ultimately help them be the best nurse. I also believe that students should be open to other learning opportunities in styles that they do not traditionally use because it can actually help them get a different outlook on topics and situations.
