In what ways were the social conditions of British India and the 1950s United States similar? In what ways were their governments and laws similar? In what ways were the strategies and tactics of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr., similar?
When people face blatant discrimination, degradation of their dignity, or unequal treatment, do you think that nonviolent noncooperation is an effective strategy? Do you think it is an approach that is ethical? Why or why not?
