 Management by objectives means to me that a company wants to set goals to achieve a certain result.  Management by objectives is a strategic way to management objectives to encourage team participation and commitment to achieve a specific goal.  Setting and achieving these goals also creates an "across the board" standard for all team members.  It creates objectives for an organization to focus on and set as a goal.
