Disruptive Technology / Hyper-competition

Please read the articles “Strategic Thinking About Disruptive Technologies.” and Exhibit 8.2 and 8.4. Select one of the two topics (disruptive technology or hyper-competition) for your discussion. Provide a brief synopsis (three to four paragraphs) of your selected topic based on the chosen article or exhibit. 

· Disruptive technology and how disruptive technology impacts strategic planning.

· Hyper-competition and how hyper-competition impacts strategic planning.

Use at least one more source, in addition to our textbook or a provided article.

Please review Exhibit 7.19 and 7.20 and the video Strategic thinking about disruptive technologies. prior to starting your analysis. Distinguish between the following pairs of grand strategies and try to use textbook examples or examples from another source.

· Horizontal and vertical integration

· Conglomerate and concentric diversification

· Product development and innovation

· Joint venture and strategic alliance
