Directions: In this module you have read about both insight- and action-oriented approaches to counseling. For this assignment, create a comprehensive presentation containing the following:

1. Compare and contrast these two approaches.
2. Choose one insight-oriented approach and evaluate how the approach contributes to understanding the client’s world, how it promotes a greater self-awareness and self-understanding for the client and how it will lead the client toward making desired life changes.
3. Choose one action-oriented approach and evaluate how the approach contributes to understanding the client’s world, how it promotes a greater self-awareness and self-understanding for the client and how it will lead the client toward making desired life changes.

This presentation must:

• have a thesis statement (statement of purpose/intent), must indicate the topics to be covered
• use ONLY professional, objective language. Use objective, formal, not conversational tone/style
• use APA style
• use direct quotes sparingly - work on paraphrasing and appropriate citations for the paraphrased information

Additionally, your presentation should minimally include detailed narration that refers to reading materials and/or written notes that refers to reading materials. A reference list of materials you used for the presentation is required.

After you have reviewed your Originality Report and used it to reduce your Similarity Index appropriately (you can submit your assignment to Turnitin.com multiple times), submit BOTH your assignment and the Originality Report to Blackboard.
