Interpersonal skills are the qualities that we use every day in our communication and interaction with other people both individually and in groups. Interpersonal skills include verbal and non-verbal communication skills, listening skills, body language and emotional intelligence. Interpersonal skills are an essential aspect of an individual's personality. An individual's personality influences their behavior while interacting with others. Cognitive style is a psychological concept used to describe the way people reason, take in information or remember information. Cognitive leadership styles are a result of strong interpersonal skills such as knowledge sharing, problem solving and conflict management. Interpersonal skills influence an individual's cognitive styles in communication and organization management.
