When employing a framework to accomplish a community health goal, do you think the planning phases or evaluation phases are more important? Provide examples as you explain your opinion.

When employing a framework to accomplish a community health goal, I think the planning phases are more important. The planning stage allows time to make sure the programs that will be implemented are the ones that matches the community’s wants and needs. Research may show that a community has a high rate of cardiovascular disease. The research showed that lack proper nutrition is a factor. The planning phase is the time to set objectives. In the planning phase the target community is identified with the desired goal. It has been identified that the community lacks access to grocery stores with healthy foods because lack of transportation. Then identify any barriers that will hinder the program, then tackle those factors prior to evaluation. This is where the most effective communication takes place. The importance of planning comes with making a quick decision to provide shuttles to adequate grocery stores. However, without planning and communication the shuttles are not useful if provided at times the community members are not available to use it, such as during work hours. This is the time to make adjustments to the program if needed. If there is failure in the planning stages, it will delay the success of the program.
