Need help with Literature Analysis

Overview

It is important to become familiar with the literature in behavior analysis so you understand what is known and how we know it. Of course, to become familiar with the literature, you need to be able to find resources and evaluate them—hence the need for library skills. Do you know which journals are most highly regarded in your specialization? Do you know how to use keywords effectively when searching or how to read an article and find the most important information to summarize? These skills are essential not only to be successful as a learner at Capella but for your career in the field.

Preparation

Complete the following if you have not already:

· Find a behavior analytic article of interest written within the last five years from each specialization area.

· ASD.

· ABA in education.

· OBM.

· Note: Be sure up upload the articles along with the assignment. Your assignment will not be graded of you fail to do so.

· Review the  Literature Analysis Worksheet [DOCX]. Please fill out and submit the completed worksheet in the course once it is completed.

Instructions

Use the  Literature Analysis Worksheet [DOCX] to complete this assignment.

· References: Provide the APA citation for each article.

· The APA citation for each article. For example: Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of article.  Title of Periodical, ;volume number (issue number), pages.

· Search: List the keywords you used for the searches you conducted in the scholarly databases and explain your reasoning behind the choices you made. Describe the results you achieved.

· Summary: Summarize each article.

· Each summary should be approximately one paragraph, consisting of 3–5 sentences. In your summary, focus on providing high-level information rather than details. Include information from the conclusion of the article and how it is relevant to your research topic.

· Implications and social significance.

· Discuss the implications of each article. State the social significance of the research.

· Compare, contrast, and synthesize.

· Compare the articles by stating what is similar about them.

· What are the methods being used, the settings, and behaviors being addressed?

· Contrast the articles by stating what is different about them.

· What are the methods being used, the settings, and behaviors being addressed?

· Synthesize the article.

· Take information from all three articles and draw a new conclusion or make a point about the combination of information.

· Credibility.

· List and explain the criteria you used to evaluate the credibility of each article you selected, including:

· Whether the article was published in the last 5–7 years.

· Whether the article is behavior analytic.

· Whether the article was peer reviewed.

Before You Submit

To maximize your scoring potential, be sure that you fully address all assignment requirements and meet the grading criteria. It is helpful to self-score your paper using the rubric before submitting to be sure you are meeting criteria for the grade you want to earn.  Important: Be sure up upload the articles along with the assignment. Your assignment will not be graded of you fail to do so.

Turnitin

Submit a draft of your assignment to Turnitin for review of proper citations and references. It is very important that you always submit your work  as a draft  so you can make revisions before submitting your assignment for grading. Additional Requirements

Your assignment should also meet the following requirements:

· Written communication: Should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.

· APA formatting: References and citations should be formatted according to current APA style and format. Refer to the  Evidence and APALinks to an external site. section of the Writing Center for citing and referencing tips.

· Resources: 3–4 scholarly resources. 

· Worksheet: Use the  Literature Analysis Worksheet [DOCX] for your assignment.

· Submission: Once you are satisfied with your paper and have made all necessary revisions, submit your assignment no later than 11:59 p.m. CST Sunday.
