I want you to keep the victim in mind when you watch these. How can our actions, questions, words, and attitudes affect them? How do they affect our investigations? What are the long term effects of us not being mindful of these elements in the professionalism of our department?

Afterwards, you will write a 500 to 750-word essay on what it means to a victim to have their dignity restored. Why is this important? How can your actions, or inactions, lead to a victim for feeling that are being “revictimized” by the investigation? Explain how a properly conducted investigation can reduce trauma and PTSD to a victim and conversely, poor performance can increase the trauma and cause a victim to withdraw from the investigative process.
