I don't regret having to be the one who was strong enough to insist that he be admitted. I know it was the right thing to do and I would do it again to protect his life. Some parents don't have strong relationships with their teens. Teens are sometimes really hard to parent even if they had a great relationship with their parents when they were younger. 

What advice would you give to a parent who doesn't have a strong relationship with their child/teen? When does 'tough love' come into play and is it ever appropriate?
