  Read the brief bio of Zitkala-Sa and then read twoof her texts as follows. Read "Impressions of an Indian Childhood" memoir by Zitkala-Sa and "The School Days of an Indian Girl".  Note, the link also includes additional texts.  Your required reading ends at "An Indian Teacher Among Indians."  For your response, compare the autobiographical writing of Zitkala-Sa with the fiction (short story) we read by E. Pauline Johnson, “As It Was in the Beginning.”  You don’t have to cover everything. Rather, focus on the home lives of Ester and Zitkala-Sa and the changes they experienced in school.
