MUSIC DISCUSSION

Choose a song that you know very well. It might be a favorite pop song that you love to sing along with, or it can even be a nursery rhyme that you loved as a child. Discuss how the musical elements work in your song. Make sure that you cover the meter or time signature, melodic contour, mode (major or minor), and form. Tell us what genre the song belongs in. Is it a children’s song, a folk song, or a pop song? Tell us a little about the history of the song. Topics might include the composer, the date it was written, or any historic or cultural significance that the song might have.  Include a link to share with the class.
