Multiple Dimensions of Identity

In this assignment, you will consider how individual identity contributes to cultural diversity. Take a moment to reflect on your personal identity and the aspects of cultural diversity you represent. Keep in mind that identity is more than what people ‘see’ when they look at you.

Write a 350- to 525-word reflection on the following:

• Using what you learned in this week’s reading assignment, describe what cultural diversity means to you. In your description, be sure to include identifiers of cultural diversity such as race, class, gender, sexuality, and disability. (Remember there are a variety of characteristics of and contributors to cultural diversity.)
• List four cultural identifiers that you identify with most (e.g., Asian American, female, etc.).
• Reflect on your identified cultural traits. Based on your reflection, how might understanding your own traits affect your perspective of cultural diversity in and outside of the workplace?
