MSW-5000 WEEK 1 : Explore the Facets of Contemporary Social Work
During this first week, you explored the social work profession and what makes it such a unique profession. You can see that social work is as diverse as the clients that are served.
For this assignment, prepare a written response to the following:
- Identify a current social issue or problem that is of personal interest to you that you believe your role as a social worker could address.
- Visit a social work professional organization website such as the National Association of Social Workers to review what is known about the social issue/problem and the role of a social worker in addressing it.
- Prepare a short 2- to 4- paragraph reflection about your interest in the problem, and discuss what research has found about the problem so far.
- Provide a list of three current journal articles you have located in the NCU library that discuss research that has investigated your selected social issue/problem. (These are the supportive resources mentioned below in the assignment criteria.)
Total Length: 2 pages, not including title and reference pages
Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect graduate-level writing and APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy.
