International trade and globalization are normal aspects of daily life. Most items that people purchase, wear, or eat are grown, assembled, or developed in a foreign country.

People communicate on electronic devices comprised of raw materials from international locations while wearing clothes that were made in Indonesia, China, or the Philippines. People drink lattes made with Colombian coffee beans, and may drive a Japanese or European car.

Using your own shopping experiences, discuss the following with your classmates:

• During travel, or even shopping trips, what other international products beyond those discussed above have you come across?
