DON’Ts — What to Avoid

❌ Don’t use AI writing without rewriting it

You must rewrite everything in your own words or it will count as plagiarism.

❌ Do not copy from any source

No copy-pasting.
No using long phrases from websites.
No repeating sentence structures.

❌ Don’t use more than 4 quotes

Quotes must be rare and must include quotation marks and citations.

❌ Don’t use banned websites

No Wikipedia, YouTube, CourseHero, StudyBlue, or non-scientific sites.

❌ Don’t forget citations or working links

Missing citations or broken links = zero.

❌ Don’t use slang or careless grammar

Write professionally and proofread your work.

❌ Don’t skip required content

If you miss any required section (life cycle, reservoirs, symptoms, etc.), you lose points.

DO’s — What You MUST do

✔ Write clearly and explain terms

Write like you are teaching someone with no biology background.
Break down scientific terms and keep sentences simple and clear.

✔ Paraphrase in your own voice

Do NOT copy phrases from sources.
Change the sentence structure and wording completely to avoid plagiarism and Turnitin flags.
Never use 5 or more words in a row from any source.

Every fact must have an in-text citation — even in the introduction and conclusion.
If you learned it from reading a source, cite it.

✔ Use only approved sources

Allowed: CDC, WHO, MicrobeWiki, scientific journals, and your textbook.
Every link must go to the exact page where you learned the information.

In-text citations must match the references.
