Mary in modernity

Four pages in which you analyze texts through close reading, and demonstrate an understanding of the texts’ historical, social, political, and cultural contexts (when relevant), in order to come up with an original thesis statement and a well-elaborated defense of your argument. The thesis should identify the question to be addressed, explain what is at stake and why it is important, and take a stand on the question.
