There is nothing like free marketing to get your product noticed, but when Doritos came up with the clever idea of holding a contest to have people compete to make the best Doritos commercial, it broke several records for viewership at the time.  The company’s advertising became a global media sensation since the winner would be announced during the Super Bowl each year and the winners would receive a million dollars.
