On completion of risk planning, project teams will identify and analyze events that can represent threats or opportunities to the project. During risk identification, project teams will use various risk identification techniques, and then these events will be ranked based on effect and probability of a risk event occurring.

• Discuss risk identification techniques and the main risk categories that are commonly recognized in the majority of projects, regardless of their scope.
