Major Assessment 2: The “Educated Person” For educators to be effective in supporting diverse learners, they need to develop, possess, and continually refine their vision of the “educated person.” In other words, they need to have a vision of their goals and outcomes for educating students. Prepare a statement of your image of and beliefs and values about the educated person. Explain your beliefs about the role of the teacher in valuing and encouraging others to value the image of an educated person. Be certain to address the roles of cultural diversity in achieving a viable vision of the educated person. Begin by reading the key documents discussed in the chapters in this section. Reference at least five additional current professional references to illustrate your position. Organize your presentation by sections and use American Psychological Association (APA) style for citing references in the body of the text and for developing your reference list.
