PAPER ASSIGNMENT

Then each faction member should choose one of the characters listed below (it’s OK if some characters are shared by more than one person) and drawing on the 

textbook readings and the links provided on your role sheet, create a 500-600 word paper (in the first person) describing your life in Galtonia. 

The first part

(250-300 words) of your paper should tell the story of your life, referencing at least three events elsewhere in Europe to provide some historical context. The more detail you provide the better. 

The second part

of your paper should be a statement of why you hold the religious 

views you do. What kinds of texts have shaped your views? You should provide 

direct quotations, within quotation sandwiches, from at least two primary 

documents to support your points. As a representative to the Convocation of Galtonia you have been chosen to provide counsel to the Duke, so in this section of your paper you should make an argument for your religious position (i.e. Protestant or Catholic). Which is more advantageous for the Duke of Galtonia as a ruler and for the people of Galtonia themselves? 

In this writing assignment you will be assessed according to how well you are able to bring in references to the primary documents we’ve read (or ones you’ve found on your own) and material from the textbook and lecture.
