This essay aims to examine Andy Jassy's (Amazon's CEO) leadership during a significant crisis at the company. Since Andy Jassy took over as CEO in July 2021, Amazon has been one of the largest and most recognized e-commerce and technology firms in the world (Dyer & Gregersen, 2017). Since there is enough documentation of the problems that Amazon's labor rules and employees have caused, this is the issue that will be examined.
Leader Profile: Andy Jassy
Andy Jassy is Amazon's highest-ranked managers and a member of the IT sector. The leader joined Amazon in 1997 and is largely known for designing Amazon Web Services (AWS) a powerhouse in the cloud computing department (Numerof, 2023). Due to his insinuating knowledge of the company's inward workings, culture, and customer-first accentuation, he was a common choice for CEO. Jassy has built a title for himself, much appreciated for his devotion to his clients, inventiveness, and the development of his company. His authority fashion, which is data-driven, customer-obsessed, and versatile, makes for an intriguing case study within the setting of Amazon's labor dispute.
Organization: Amazon
Amazon.com, Inc. could be a Fortune 500 organization with a base in Seattle, Washington. It was established in 1994 by Web business visionary Jeff Bezos. Since its early days as an e-commerce stage, the company has extended into other regions, such as cloud computing, advanced spilling, and indeed fake insights. Amazon has been at the center of different discussions and concerns, in spite of its status as one of the world's wealthiest and most powerful organizations due to its worldwide reach and imaginative trade approach.
Labor practices and employee issues as a crisis/event
The labor policies of Amazon and the myriad problems that have emerged over the years in regard to Amazon's employees are the focus of the crisis/event of choice. This category includes issues including accusations of monitoring employees, unsafe working conditions, low wages, employee unionization efforts, and attempts at unionization. Numerous sources have contributed to the public's knowledge of these problems, including media coverage, investigative publications, and the experiences of current and former Amazon employees (Jeong et al.,2023).
The proposal's stated objective is to examine Andy Jassy's leadership style and analyze the success of his tactics in dealing with these labor issues throughout his term as CEO. A comprehensive evaluation of Jassy's leadership style and its influence on Amazon's image and staff will be compiled using publicly available information and recorded incidents.
Conclusion:
The crisis/event surrounding Amazon's labor rules and employee-related challenges has been extensively reported on and can be confirmed, and in this essay proposal, this paper plans to analyze Andy Jassy's management style in light of this information. By dissecting Jassy's responses to these challenges, it aims to get insight into how a globally recognized CEO like Amazon deals with a crisis of this scale.
