Planning Multiple Regression Analysis

Given the variables you have identified in the hypothetical SPSS database of your research project, consider posing a question for your study that would be compatible with the use of a multiple regression analysis of selected data.

For this assignment, prepare a response which includes the following:

• Identify two or more predictor variables and one criterion variable from your variables that would fit the requirements for a multiple regression analysis. Describe how you might create new variables if you don’t have exactly what you would need to do this type of analysis.
• State your research question concerning relationships compatible with your selected predictor and criterion variables.
• Elaborate on your design for using multiple regression analysis in your study. Describe and justify the methods you propose for each of the following (discuss any possible concerns or limitations in the proposed methods):
  
  
  • Determining sufficient sample size: Specify considerations for selected alpha level, desired power, desired effect size, and validation checks you may plan.
  • Selecting a sample: How would you ensure representativeness?
  • Performing statistical analysis: Include the method to be used and validation checks.
  • Screening data and evaluating assumptions: Are any data transformations or modifications required? If yes, describe.
  • Interpreting outcomes in relation to stated hypothesis(es).
