STUDENT RESPONSE:

The specific techniques that Smith can use to increase the emphasis on business ethics when he takes control of the firm are “communication, discipline and change” (Bianca, n.d.). When communicating, Smith needs to be able to “make his expectations clear” (Moran, 2012). With communication there are multiple ways to transfer data or information when emphasizing on the firm’s business ethics. They are through speaking, writing it in the business ethics handbook or even in other procedural recorded documentation. This specific technique is one of the most important due to that it communication and networking ability to be on one accord. Discipline is another specific technique. This technique is for an enforcement to stabilize good ethical behavior and “enforce consequences for violations” (Bianca, n.d). And lastly, “Empowerment also can produce better results from employees, such as more creative solutions to business problems, when implemented effectively” (Bianca, n.d.).

Regarding, the improvement of the Human Resource Management (HRM) of the firm, to, avoid future legal problems, are to “comply with discrimination laws, maintain consistent employee policies, and, make documentation a top priority” (Human Resources, 2015).
