Assignment 1: Treatment or Punishment

There is an ongoing debate between those who feel that the purpose of the correctional system should be to rehabilitate offenders and those who believe that the system should focus on punishment. On the basis of this debate, correctional professionals have proposed two correction models—the rehabilitation (or treatment) model and the crime control (or punishment) model.
