Literature Review, Discussion Section

• Section III Discussion Section: This is the section where you summarize and discuss your final 10 articles.  You will need to think critically about the data and help your readers understand patterns within these data. 

 The discussion section of your literature review will discuss the final articles selected in your methods section.  This will be a discussion of the themes identified throughout your articles. 

 For example, I am reviewing the literature on older adults and disaster preparedness.  I find 10 peer-reviewed journal articles.  The findings of these articles together might indicate there are several barriers to preparedness for older adults: financial, ability to go purchase items, storing preparedness items and ability to receive timely risk communications.  These would be the themes of my discussion and I would cite the articles that supported the themes.
