Instructions In this assignment, you will reflect on your cultural learning throughout the course. Please select a specific cultural topic from the course to focus on. This could be one of the culture lectures in Brightspace (for example, Hispanic/Latino/a/x identity in the US or Puerto Ricans in New York) or one of the cultural topics that you learned about in your MindTap work, or a combination of the two (for example, if you would like to focus on a particular country that you learned about, such as Spain, you may take examples from both Brightspace and MindTap). Your reflection should be 250-300 words written in English. Please use the following questions to guide your reflection. Your response should be written in paragraph form rather than as a list of answers to these questions: 1. Briefly explain what the cultural topic was (this should be limited to 2-3 sentences). 2. Describe your previous knowledge or possible personal biases that might affect your relationship to the topic. 3. What did you learn about this cultural topic in this course that you did not already know? 4. Can you relate what you learned to cultural experiences in your own life? Or to cultural learning from other classes or contexts (museums, documentaries, books)? 5. Did your thoughts and feelings about this cultural topic change because of what you learned in this course? What initial ideas have you examined and reconsidered? How do your reactions relate to your own cultural context? 6. Did you enjoy learning about this cultural topic? Why or why not? 7. Are there other Hispanic or Latino cultural topics you would like to explore further in the future? Grading This assignment is worth 3 points and due on Thursday.
