Life Editing

According to the life-editing approach (Wilson, 2011), positive, lasting behavioral changes can be induced by redirecting individual’s narratives about themselves and their social world (i.e., self-transformation). In this assignment, you are required to describe a negative event that significantly impacts your life. Self-transformation may occur through the practice of reframing one's negative experience.

All reports should be typed in Times New Roman size 12, double-spaced, 1” margins, and 3 pages or longer.

In this report, you will apply what you have learned from the Phenomenological Theory to address the followings. You will…

•   describe a negative event in your past

•   explain why this event is significant

•   identify what changed inside you as a result of this event

(i.e., how you see yourself, others, and the world)

•   analyze how this event has affected you in some positive

ways today (i.e., how you see yourself, others, and the

 world)
