Leveraging Ethical Use of AI in Writing

Step 1: Prepare Your Paper

• Finish work on your research paper, implementing feedback your instructor provided on your rough draft.   

Step 2: Choose an AI Tool (chatGPT)

• Select an AI tool according to the approved AI tools for GCU.

Step 3: Submit Paper to AI for Feedback

• Enter your paper using this prompt: "Please review my research paper and provide feedback only. Do not write or rewrite any part of my paper. Focus on clarity, organization, argument strength, use of evidence, and grammar. Suggest specific ways I can improve."
• Save the AI feedback for submission.

Step 4: Write Your Reflection (250 words)

• Explain which AI feedback was most helpful and why.
• Describe how you plan to revise your paper based on the feedback.
• Discuss any feedback you disagree with and explain why.
• Explain the importance of ethical and responsible use of AI-generated feedback in academic writing. 

Step 5: Prepare Your Submission

• Submit your original research paper.
• Include the AI-generated feedback.
• Include your 1-page reflection.
