Positive Social Change Goal: Strengthening Community Resilience through Enhanced Disaster Preparedness and Response
The Red Cross of America concentrates on strong communities by working at the household level and trying to develop capacity for disaster preparedness. For the coming 12 months and thereafter, our objective is defined as achieving 25% more participants in the programs as the result of certain, measurable, and feasible activities. This will be ensured by following employee training completion as well as individual emergency plan creation step by step (Imperiale & Vanclay, 2020). This kind of delivery of services encourages community readiness, hence building a united community that is ready for sudden disasters.
Our envisioned strategy integrates vision from personalized community clinics to user-friendly mobile apps, together with partnerships, a redesigned training system, and impact assessment. Furthermore, it addresses the demands of community engagement, aligning the forces, which in turn promotes a more dynamic, secure, and stable environment worldwide (Tariq et al., 2021). Nevertheless, our aims might be as big as the sky, but ours will still be a joint effort that will be the footpath for permanent development. Therefore, by dedicating ourselves to resilience and preparing for the worst, we are determined to have a world where a strong community will stand.

Literature Synthesis
Literature Synthesis Tips:
• Define themes from the literature.
• Develop concepts from the literature.
• Draw conclusions for a topic.
• Use parenthetical citations to cite the articles contributing to the themes.
• Contrast and compare ideas using an analysis of information. Contrasting the Literature Synthesis, Annotated Bibliography, and Literature Review
➢ Literature synthesis: ○ Overview: The literature synthesis provides an overview of the literature
in the form of themes that are provided in a narrative discussion.
○ Formatting: The literature synthesis contains parenthetical citations to
show the sources of the themes from the articles or texts.
○ Main component: The narrative provides themes on topics that lead to
conclusions about the information in the articles or texts.
○ Example:
▪ Defining themes for a literature synthesis will support ideas and
concepts (Forsythe, 2022). The themes come from comparing and
contrasting ideas to create an analysis of information (Forsythe,
2022).
➢ Annotated Bibliography:
o Overview: An annotated bibliography provides a summary of articles or
texts.
o Formatting: The annotated bibliography starts with a citation and then
has a paragraph with the summary of the article or text.
o Main component: The annotated bibliography provides important
concepts found in the article or text.
o Example:
▪ Forsythe, L. L. (2022). Writing a literature synthesis. Walden
University Journal ABC, 1(2). https://www.literaturesynthesis.com
Forsythe (2022) describes the importance of developing a clear and
precise narrative that defines themes in the literature.
In summary, the article defines the use of themes to support concepts or ideas by comparing and contrasting information as an analysis.

➢ Literature review:
○ Overview: The literature review provides a narrative exploration of a topic
from an article or text.
○ Formatting: The literature review uses the author and year of publication
as a lead-in for the discussion.
○ Main components: The literature review provides an analysis of articles
that have already been assessed by a peer review for publication. The
review contains important information found in the article of text.
○ Example:
▪ Forsythe (2022) defines a path to developing a precise and
scholarly use of information that becomes a synthesis. As a
literature synthesis is formed, there is a process of comparing and
contrasting ideas to develop an analysis. This analysis reveals
themes from the literature.

LITERATURE SYNTHESIS PAPER: USING EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONAL OUTCOMES
In Week 1, you were introduced to the Literature Synthesis and Levels of Evidence Table that is due this week. In the subsequent weeks you developed a Levels of Evidence table containing 15 research and performance improvement articles to support the social change goal or outcome that is the basis for your performance improvement strategy for the nonprofit or public/government organization you chose in Week 1. By way of reminder, the difference between a peer-reviewed research article and a performance improvement article is the latter may be from a credible source and have value yet not be peer reviewed.
Then, you examined the literature information on the table and continuously searched for and refined themes you noted across the literature to support the use of the performance metrics, analysis, and intervention to develop and sustain positive outcomes for the organization.
Importantly, the focus of the Levels of Evidence table articles is not to have a certain number of articles per level represented, but instead to support and explain the rationale for the social change goal or outcome that is the basis for your performance improvement strategy for the nonprofit or public/government organization. Also, when completing the table, you are not writing about each study or a particular organization and what it did but instead about the themes you are finding. Look for similar words and/or phrases in the articles that support the social change goal or outcome that is the basis for your performance improvement strategy for the nonprofit or public/government organization.

WEEKLY RESOURCES
TO PREPARE
Identify literature (i.e., peer-reviewed research and performance improvement articles) to support the social change goal or outcome that will be the basis for your performance improvement strategy for the nonprofit or public/government organization you chose in Week 1. Note: You will place the article information in a Levels of Evidence table provided in the Learning Resources.
Consider the themes of the literature to support the use of the performance metrics, analysis, and intervention to develop and sustain positive outcomes for the organization.
Review the Walden Templates: General Templates webpage in this week’s Learning Resources. Go to the “Graduate Courses” section and use the “APA Course Paper Template (APA 7)” for this Assignment.
ASSIGNMENT (4–5 PAGES, NOT INCLUDING THE TITLE PAGE, REFERENCES PAGE, AND APPENDIX):
This Synthesis Assignment should be in support of the organization you have discussed in Assignment 1 and Assignment 2 and should include at least 15 peer-reviewed research articles or performance improvement articles.
Provide a Levels of Evidence table using 15 research and performance improvement articles. Place the Levels of Evidence table as an appendix to the Literature Synthesis APA paper.
Write a Literature Synthesis paper that contains a thematic overview of the literature to support the use of the performance metrics, analysis, and intervention to develop and sustain positive outcomes for the organization.
Papers: Use APA 7 style guidelines for your title page, introduction, level headings, related summaries, and conclusion.
Be sure to support your Assignment with specific references to the Learning Resources and peer-reviewed sources from the Walden Library and/or the internet. Use proper APA format and citations, including those in the Learning Resources.
BY DAY 7
Submit your Literature Synthesis Assignment, including your completed Levels of Evidence table.
