Learning Activity: Analyzing Bad News

Find a press release from the last three months of a company announcing bad news. It could be layoffs, a change in their business structure, stock prices being lower than projected, or other bad news. Submit a Word document that contains a link to the press release and answers to the following questions about the communication:

• Does it communicate what needs to be communicated, or are there unanswered questions? Explain.
• Are the solutions or next steps clear to the reader? Why or why not?
• Does the communication appear transparent or does it seem as though much more is not being said? Explain.
