Laws and Regulations

In preparing for this discussion, read Chapters 28, 29 and 30 of the course text. For your initial post,

• Step 1: Select one law from (1) Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), (2) Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (CORBA), (3) Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), or (4) Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
• Step 2: Address the following in your initial response:
  • Summarize the selected law.
  • Describe its impacts on individuals, employers, and payers.
• Step 3: Create a multimedia presentation for two questions in Step 2. Review the Screencast-O-Matic Quick-Start Guide (Links to an external site.) and visit Screencast-o-Matic website (Links to an external site.) to get started. You could also use Jing (Links to an external site.). The use of a webcam is not required to use a screencast program; however, screencasts do require the use of a computer microphone.
• Step 4: Post the link to your multimedia presentation along with your script to the discussion forum.

Your initial post should be at least 300 words. Support your response with a minimum of two scholarly sources (Links to an external site.) that were published in the last five years.
