Law - Criminal writing assignment

The instructions for writing assignment #1 can be found under the module 3 material, but for ease of access I am including them here as well as my thoughts and the rubric for you this week.

Writing Assignment #1:

Find a news article of your choice describing a good or service (you may use articles from websites such as cnn.com or foxnews.com). Summarize the situation and identify what supply or demand shift factor is at work. Describe the effect on equilibrium price and quantity given the shift factor. Provide a copy of your article with your written assignment.

My Tips:

Please refer to the rubric below so you know where points will come from. Note that most will come from an application of the economics to the situation you choose. Please, for my ease in grading, include a snipping of the article at the end of your document (as opposed to submitting separate files...although a link to the article would also help, but I think the snip would be the quickest for me to review). Note the number of points to address in this assignment and please address completely, being sure to "think like an economist" which in this case means using the proper terminology (and I would warn you to be careful between changes in quantity demanded/quantity supplied in response to a price change as opposed to an entire shift in supply or demand!) Often times writers will use these economic terms incorrectly just for simplicity...try to avoid their mistakes!
