Preparing Your PowerPoint Presentation

Once your capstone paper is complete, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation based on your paper that contains approximately 7-10 PowerPoint slides. Note oral presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes. A general rule of thumb is one minute per PowerPoint slide. For your oral presentation, you will record a video of yourself giving your PowerPoint presentation in Zoom. Make sure to leave sufficient space in the top right of your PowerPoint slides to accommodate the Zoom video window. 

Your PowerPoint presentation should begin with a brief overview of the policy, including its history, background, goals, and implementation, as well as your thesis statement. Next, you should briefly review the research literature evaluating the policy's efficacy and discuss the main research findings. Based on the research review, conclude with recommendations for improvement and future directions for policymakers and/or criminal justice agents.
