Imagine that you are a federal law enforcement officer and you try to effectuate an arrest on someone you think has violated the law.  When you try to arrest the suspect, he resists the arrest because he does not believe that the arrest is lawful.  You end up breaking the leg of the person you are trying to arrest because they are resisting.  The suspect ends up suing you for the intentional torts of false arrest and battery.  Walk through the law that will apply in this situation and the legal analysis of these facts under that law.
